‘Hartalika Teej’ Ki Shubhkamnaye from & TV’s Santoshi Maa Sunaye Vrat Kathayein

Observed on the Tritiya Tithi of Shukla Paksha in Bhadrapada, Hartalika Teej iscelebrated by married women in Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand and Rajasthan for the well-being and prosperity of their husbands. The auspicious festival is dedicated to Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati in the name of their holy union and is celebrated one day before Ganesh Chaturthi. Celebrating this day, Gracy Singh (Santoshi Maa) and Tanvi Dogra (Swati) from &TV’s Santoshi Maa Sunaye Vrat Kathayein convey Hartalika Teej Ki Shubhkamnaye to all married women.

Speaking about the significance of Hartalika Teej, Gracy Singh, who plays Santoshi Maa in &TV’s Santoshi Maa Sunaye Vrat Kathayein says, “Hartalika Teej is a story about Goddess Parvati’s sheer loyalty and perseverance which in turn helped her earn Lord Shiva as her husband. On this day, women offer prayers to Shiv-Parvati and wish for the longevity and prosperity of their respective husbands. They perform the puja and narrate the Legend of Hartalika, which completes the ritual. This Haatalika Teej, I wish every woman a blissful married life and pray they received Shiv Parvati’s blessings in abundance!”

Speaking about the Hartalika Teej vrat vidhi, Tanvi Dogra who plays Swati, an ardent bhakt of Santoshi Maa in &TV’s Santoshi Maa Sunaye Vrat Kathayein says,“Hartalika
Teej is a special occasion for married women across India, especially in states such as U.P, M.P, Rajasthan, Bihar, and Jharkhand. Women start this day by waking up early in the morning, getting ready with proper sringar and Puja samagri. They pray to God for the longevity of their husband, also for good health and good fortune. Along with prayers, women also offer Bel Patra (holy leaves), fruits and flowers to Lord Shiva, followed by a Gauri Ganesh puja. They fast the entire day and break it in the evening with satvik food.
